In the wake of calls for her resignation, Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby has been receiving vulgar and threatening email messages, documents from her office show.

Almost all are laced with profanity and racial slurs, but one in particular contains two fake news reports the author calls "hypothetical situations."
The first tells the story of how Marilyn Mosby is "gunned down walking into the court house." The second details the torture and dismemberment of her husband -- Councilman Nick Mosby -- and the disappearance of several members of the Mosby family.

A spokeswoman for the State's Attorney's Office said Mosby has received offensive, racist, sexist letters and emails -- and even death threats-- since the beginning of her administration.
In recent days, local Maryland Del. Pat McDonough has launched a petitioncalling for Mosby to step down and a George Washington University Law professor, John Banzhaf III, has filed a formal complaint with the Maryland’s Attorney Grievance Commission.
McDonough said Friday that he may take things further, and ask for a criminal investigation against Mosby.
“In my case, my question is related to misconduct in office,” McDonough said. “We want these questions answered by a third party.”

Some community activists, including Apostle Kinji Scott, are calling for McDonough to resign.
“As a community leader I call for immediate resignation of Delegate Pat McDonough,” Scott wrote in an email. Scott said it was “highly irresponsible” for McDonough to be making “inflammatory statements” about Mosby “during a period of threats.”
McDonough said he had no intention to resign.
“I think when someone is asked to resign because they’re doing their job is ridiculous,” McDonough said. “There’s a whole cast of characters who always play the race card. I don’t pay attention to that.
McDonough said that, in politics, getting threats is just a part of the game.
“I’ve been in politics a long time,” he said. “There are a lot of nuts out there.”
