A man who was charged earlier this summer with the murder of a woman found dead in Annapolis has now been arrested for the 2012 murder of another woman.

Cpl. Jacklyn Davis, a spokeswoman for the Anne Arundel County Police Department, said at a Monday afternoon press conference that Christopher Scheibe confessed to the homicide of Jessica Lee.

The body of Lee, 18, was found behind what was then Ollie's Bargain Outlet on Ritchie Highway in Pasadena. The cause of death was blunt force trauma.

Scheibe was then identified as a person of interest, and the case never went cold, Davis said.

Then, on May 31 of this year, the body of Holly Smith, 24, was found in the 2000 block of Industrial Drive in Annapolis.

Scheibe, of no fixed address, was charged with first- and second-degree murder and first- and second-degree assault in Smith's death after he confessed to the crime. He then confessed to the murder of Lee as well.

Police believe Scheibe could be connected to other violent crimes throughout the state, and that he may have used aliases.

Davis said it's unclear what his motive could be,

"I don't think we'll ever know," she said.
