After an EF-2 tornado ripped through Kent Island Monday morning, home owners and businesses have been left to cleanup the wreckage.
There have been plenty of contractors showing up hoping for work, but some might just been looking for an easy buck.
Nathy Gibbs has had several people approach her that she feels were more interested in handing out their business cards then lending a hand with the cleanup. She says some scammers have seen it as an easy payday.
"It's in poor taste that somebody wants to make a buck," she said.
The Better Business Bureau recommends using local contractors and be wary of out of town phone numbers. They recommend using only accredited contractors.

While some might be looking for easy money, nearly 30 volunteers from Home Depot are helping the community. Stuart Reiss is appreciative.
"A lot of people are down here trying to scam people probably and make a lot of money," he said. "These people are volunteering on their own time, they're not getting paid. I think they are wonderful."
Most of the volunteers are from the other side of the Bay Bridge. The cleanup will continue on Kent Island and residents are thankful to have honest people helping.
"It's one of our values, it's part of our culture. When people need help, we help," said Bill Shuell from the Home Depot.
