EMS crews lock themselves in ambulance for safety

PERRYMAN, Md. (WMAR) - Aberdeen EMS crews locked themselves in an ambulance after a large fight broke out Tuesday night around 10:00 p.m.

According to Rich Gardiner, spokesperson for Harford County Fire and EMS, crews responded to the 400 block of Daugherty lane after receiving a call of a sick person.

Crews report that once they got the patient inside of the ambulance, more than 30 people gathered around the medical vehicle and began fighting.

The medical personnel locked themselves in the ambulance for protection and called police.

EMS crews were unable to drive because of the large crowd.

The crowd scattered by the time police arrived on the scene.  ABC2 News has learned that no police report was filed on the incident because there was no damage.
