Two killed in Thanksgiving morning crash

MOUNT AIRY, Md. - Two people are dead after the car they were in spun out of control and was rammed by a truck on Thursday morning.

According to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened just before 1 a.m. on Old Buffalo Road just south of Old Bohn Road.

Deputies say 25-year-old Ricky Wean and 23-year-old Christopher Goldzwig were driving on Buffalo Road when they lost control after zooming past another vehicle on a double yellow line.

The Honda Prelude that Wean was driving spun out of control and crossed over the double yellow lane divider, authorities said. Moments later, the car was hit by a Dodge Ram on the driver's side.

Wean and Goldwig were pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the truck was taken to Meredith Hospital in Hagerstown, MD with non-life threatening injuries.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
