Former Baltimore Raven to speak on equal rights, same-sex marriage

WESTMINSTER, Md. - Former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo is expected to speak at McDaniel College Wednesday night, not about football, but about equal rights.

Ayanbadejo believes the fight to legalize same-sex marriage is, "the 21st century version of the fight for racial equality," according to a release issued by the college. His support for same-sex marriage and lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender rights stems from his experiences growing up as the son of an Irish-American mother and Nigerian father, the release states.

The one-hour moderated question and answer session is free and open to the public. It is scheduled to take begin at 7 p.m. in the WMC Alumni Hall at McDaniel College, located at 2 College Hill in Westminster.
