3 alarm fire engulfs 6 businesses

ROSEDALE, Md (WMAR) - UPDATE  | Baltimore County Firefighters have placed the fire under control, but several crews will remain at the shopping center to ensure the fire is completely extinguished.

While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, there have been no reported injuries.

It took more than 150 people to contain the fierce flames.


Baltimore County Fire crews are working to put out a massive fire in a Rosedale shopping center.

Lieutenant Paul Massarelli, spokesperson for the Baltimore County Fire Department, tells ABC2 that one business has begun to collapse, and the fire has now spread into five neighboring businesses.

The fire is blazing from the 8400 block of Philadelphia Road and is now at three alarms.

Massarelli says that the fire started at Jackie Chen's Chinese Restaurant before spreading to the other businesses.

Baltimore County Police are asking drivers to find alternate routes because the road will be closed until the fire is contained or extinguished.

Pastore's of Rosedale, a popular Italian grocery store, bakery, and deli, appears to be one of the businesses involved in this fire.  The store has not posted anything about the fire on their website or social media.

The fire is reported to have started between 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.

As firefighters continue fighting the the flames, officials say there have not been any reports of injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
