Phylicia Barnes' accused killer gets new trial

BALTIMORE - The man accused of killing Phylicia Barnes is getting a new trial.

Michael Johnson was expected to be sentenced Wednesday in the killing of the 16-year-old North Carolina teen, but instead will get a new trial. 

Judge Alfred Nance cited issues with the State's main witness as the reason.

Barnes disappeared back in 2010.. while visiting her sister in Baltimore for the holidays. 

Her body was found a few months later in the Susquehanna River. 
Last month jury found Johnson guilty of second degree murder last month.
