Firefighters battle three-alarm Roland Park house fire

BALTIMORE - Firefighters Thursday battled a three-alarm house fire in Roland Park, officials announced via Twitter

The freezing cold temperatures hindered the operation. Responders discovered two fire hydrants inaccessible, a department spokesman said. There were no injuries.

The fire engulfed a single family home in the 1000 block of St. Georges Road.

A smoke alarm alerted the owners to the fire.

Firefighters were dispatched to the Roland Park neighborhood at around 4:20 p.m. for a two-alarm fire.

The status of the blaze was escalated from two to three alarms at around 5 p.m.
