BALTIMORE - Though Preakness is an event known for the horses and the fashion. The day before, Black-Eyed Susan Day is all about the ladies.
Black-Eyed Susan Day supports Komen Maryland in the fight against breast cancer.
"It's important for us to remember that as ladies, we need to band together and remember about breast cancer," said survivor Amy Feranec.
Feranec was one of 20 women getting the royal treatment in the winners circle. The women were celebrating the journey they've been through together as survivors.
"It's huge," she said. "It gives you such an inspiration for someone like me who is not quite at the two year mark. To be inspired by these other women who have set this path for me of being strong and courageous to fight this disease."
The event has teamed up with Susan G. Komen for seven years and it has become an event these survivors look forward to each year.
