Baltimore City declares a Code Blue Alert

BALTIMORE CITY - The latest round of wintry weather is expected to hit Baltimore Wednesday night. But the system is also bringing in some frigid cold temperatures.

With wind chills expected to make it feel like the teens and single digits for the next few days, Baltimore officials have declared a Code Blue Alert for Tuesday and Wednesday.

This means the government is going to extra lengths to keep vulnerable people warm - including opening emergency shelters and keeping them staffed longer.

If you or someone you know needs assistance, you can call 311 or 410-396-3100.

Wednesday will be Baltimore's 22nd day under a Code Blue Alert this winter.
