3 charged in Anne Arundel prostitution sting

Three Maryland men are facing prostitution charges in the wake of a police internet sting in the Linthicum Hotel District.

The investigation is ongoing as detectives with the Anne Arundel County Police Department's special enforcement section continue to track down those behind phone calls and text messages received from 51 different phone numbers during the sting operation, police said.

Ibrahim Aruna, 45, of the 8200 block of Marlton Court in Severn, Ryan Matthew Saul, 39, of the 1000 block of Patapsco Street in Baltimore and Gopal Chandru Knowdley, 27, of the 4300 block of Temora Manor Lane in Ellicott City are charged with prostitution and assignation, a charge that applies to setting up an appointment for prostitution.

The charges were leveled against the three men after they allegedly reached out to undercover detectives posing as escorts on a website often used for prostitution, according to the Anne Arundel police department.
