Kids meals a recipe for obesity?

97% of kids meals flunk nutritional guidelines

BALTIMORE - Some 97% of kids meals do not meet the basic nutritional standards according to a report by the Center for Science in the Public Interest.

91% don't even meet the National Restaurant Association's own nutritional guidelines. The worst offender: Applebee's grilled cheese sandwich on sourdough bread with fries and 2% chocolate milk.

The meal has about a 1,000 calories and 21 grams of saturated fat. That's followed by Chilli's pepperoni pizza with home style fries and a soda which packs more than 1,000 calories. 

Dairy Queen's fried chicken strip meal with fries, a slushy drink and ice cream bar has 1,000 calories.
