Justice Department appealing Plan B decision

BALTIMORE - New developments this morning with the morning after pill. The U.S. Justice Department says its appealing a decision, claiming it *does* want an age requirement for Plan B.

A judge ruled there should be no age requirement earlier this year. Tuesday, the FDA said only girls 15 and older should have access to the emergency birth control without a parent's or doctor's consent.

Dr. Nancy Barr with Medstar Franklin Square Medical Center says this is an important development, but that if teens are sexually active they should not count on Plan "B."

Dr. Barr says they need to have a plan "A"....in place. Dr. Barr says the only noticeable side effects you may have from plan b is nausea.
