AA Co. Health Dept. holds free flumist clinic for H3N2

BALTIMORE - As you head back to work and send the kids off to school, it's hard not to think about the flu.

The CDC reports the flu outbreak has now reached epidemic proportions.

On Monday, the Anne Arundel County Health Department will hold a free flumist clinic at their health center in Glen Burnie from 3 PM to 7 PM.

The flumist is for healthy people ages 2 to 49 years old. You should not get it if you're pregnant.

Over the weekend, the CDC reported deaths from the flu this season have reached epidemic proportions.

The good news is there are signs we may have turned a corner, flu cases appear to have peaked, indicating we may be at the halfway point.

As you get back to work today and the kids head back to school, remember to wash your hands often to keep the germs away.

Because they can be everywhere, at the ATM the post office, even gas pumps.

And because the demand for flu vaccines is so high right now, it's a good idea to call ahead before going to a store or clinic to make sure they haven't run out.
