WESTMINSTER, Md. - Police arrested a man and a woman in connection to an armed robbery of a Carroll County ice cream shop.
Chilly temperatures weren't enough to discourage Christopher G. Sorger, 35 and Danielle Frederick, 32, from robbing Hoffman's Ice Cream in Westminster.
Police said around 3:30 Friday afternoon, officers were called to the shop located in the 900 block of Washington Lane, for a report of an armed robbery.
Employees told police a man approached the counter and threatened to shoot them if they did not give him money from the register. An employee turned over the cash and the suspect ran from the store.
An immediate search of the area was unsuccessful.
During the investigation, State Police identified Sorger as a suspect. They also determined he had been assisted in the crime by Frederick.
Police found and arrested the pair at a Baltimore County motel Friday night. They were returned to Carroll County where they were charged with robbery, first degree assault and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
