Security guard maced, shoots gun at suspect in Parkville

PARKVILLE, Md. - Police are investigating an incident where a security guard fired his gun after someone robbed him using some sort of mace.

Baltimore County Police say someone robbed the security guard around 9:30 a.m. on Monday as he walked out of the Bay Bank on Joppa Road in Parkville.

The suspect used "some type of chemical irritant" and started fighting with the guard.  During the fight the suspect got the bag carried by the guard and ran.  The security guard then shot in the direction the suspect ran.

Police have a suspect in custody, but are not releasing his name until charges are officially filed.
