Security chief at city jail removed from position

The security chief at the Baltimore City Detention Center has been removed from his position.

The change was made Friday as a part of the continuing assessment of operations at the detention center.

The security chief is the third-ranking official at the detention center. The role of a security chief is to oversee the security operations of a correctional institution.

The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services in the central region includes all correctional facilities in Baltimore, including the Baltimore City Detention Center.
