Man stabbed in strip club is City's 30th homicide

BALTIMORE - A man stabbed in a strip club on The Block became Baltimore city's 30 th homicide of 2014.

Police said around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, officers were called to Two O'Clock Club in the 400 block of E. Baltimore Street for a stabbing. When police arrived they found a man inside who had been stabbed multiple times. The man was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital where he died a short time later.

"It's unfortunate that people come down here and do stuff like that and make 'the block' look bad," said Michael Gates, who works in the area.

Police discovered two additional stabbing victims inside the club. A 30-year-old man was stabbed in the neck and a 17-year-old man was stabbed in the torso. Both victims were treated at area hospitals and are expected to survive.

"It's not something that you want to hear. It's not something that you want to be around. You know, and you definitely don't want that to happen down here on 'the block.' Again, this is the people that work hard everyday," Gates said.

In the seven years he's worked in the area, Gates said he's never seen anything like this.

"You can't let this be a reflection on 'the block.' Because 'the block' is, you know, these guys, these businesses down here work hard to keep things right and do things they way they're supposed to be; everyday hardworking people."

Investigators believe the victims were stabbed during an altercation inside the club with an unknown suspect. After the fight, the male suspect fled the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-396-2100.
