Man, 56, killed in southwest Baltimore

25 murders in first 30 days of 2014

BALTIMORE - A 56-year-old man died in Baltimore Thursday night at a hospital where he was taken after he was shot several times, Baltimore police said.

Officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of Walrad Street in southwest Baltimore at 6:49 p.m. for a report of a shooting, according to a release.

Twenty-five people have been shot and killed in Baltimore in the first 30 days of 2014.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased by medical staff, police said.

Investigators believe the victim was in the 4200 block of Walrad Street when he was shot. Detectives are investigating.
