Woman, dog found dead at Davidsonville home

Anne Arundel County police are calling a Davidsonville woman's death a homicide.

They aren't giving an exact motive but they say the community should not be concerned about a killer on the loose.

"That's very shocking," said Louise Thomas, a neighbor.

That woman, police say, was in her 30's.  They were called to the 3300 block of Royale Glen Court by two friends of the victim around 11:30 this morning.

"I sometimes drive through the pretty neighborhoods here on my way back to the house, so I'm absolutely shocked to find a crime scene here," said Thomas.

Neighbors have kept quiet.  One told us the victim was not married.

The victim, police say, had obvious signs of trauma.

"We're not ruling out foul play and detectives are treating this as a suspicious death based on the circumstances, very unusual circumstances," said Justin Mulcahy, Anne Arundel Co. police spokesman.

A box delivered to the home shows a possible name, but police have not confirmed it.  Police are working to determine why and how the woman and her dog died.

"Davidsonville is very quiet, certainly wouldn't expect something like this here," said Thomas.

Police have not identified the victim.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detective Vince Carbonaro of the homicide unit at 410-222-3453.
