Three arrested in Arundel prostitution bust

LINTHICUM, Md. - Two women and a man were arrested Thursday by Anne Arundel County police on prostitution and other related charges.

According to a county police news release, Anne Arundel ‘s vice unit located  an online advertisement under the Baltimore adult services escort section "Backpage" that contained photos of a young looking female. Through surveillance and undercover operations, it was determined that two women and a man were involved in a prostitution business working out of a Linthicum area hotel. Additionally, it was learned that the male was providing transportation so that the female prostitutes could meet up with dates at other hotels.

Police searched two hotel rooms and a vehicle believed to be utilized in the operation. All three persons were arrested without incident. Through interviews, it was determined that the male suspect was using his party promotion business as a front for human trafficking and prostitution.

Those arrested included Michael D. Boswell, Jr ., 30, of, Raleigh, N.C. He was charged with human trafficking, prostitution and marijuana possession. Also arrested were Ashley Gassaway , 22, of Greensboro, N.C. and Regina A. Tyson, 19, of no fixed address. Gassaway was charged with prostitution and possession of paraphernalia while Tyson was charged with prostitution and possession of controlled deadly substance paraphernalia among other charges.

In addition, detectives found out that Boswell had been out on bond for felony pandering and prostitution charges in Henrico County, Va . and currently on probation in Raleigh, N.C., which prohibited him from leaving their jurisdiction and prohibited him from being employed as a party promoter.
