Gordon Ramsay opens his first steakhouse on the East Coast at Horseshoe Casino

I didn't know what to expect when I decided to go to the media event at Gordon Ramsay's new steakhouse Gordon Ramsay Steak at the Horseshoe Casino.

I've seen a couple of episodes of Hell's Kitchen and Ramsay seemed like a terrifying individual who could strike fear in the hearts of even the toughest chefs.

But other food bloggers assured me Ramsay was a cool guy who is extremely talented and passionate about food.

And they were right.

As soon as he walked into the dining room, you could feel his excitement about opening his second Gordon Ramsay Steak location. The first one is at the Paris Casino in Las Vegas.

He was animated when talking about dishes like the Beef Wellington and the Maryland crab cake. He made one of his chefs swear the crab meat is local and doesn't come in a can.

Ramsay joked about the Bee's Bollocks cocktail and sat in awe when another chef smoked the steak tartare and s'mores cocktail.

And don't push the sides to the side. There's the loaded baked potato with bacon and smoked gouda bechamel. Or the grilled asparagus with white asparagus cream and lemon.

Gordon Ramsay Steak is open Wednesday thru Sunday for dinner.

Ramsay is joining two other celebrity chefs at the Horseshoe. Guy Fieri's Kitchen + Bar is already in the casino. And Giada de Laurentiis is opening a restaurant there in 2018.
