Women talk more because of protein?

A new study conducted by researchers at the University of Maryland takes aim at previous studies suggesting women talk more than men.

According to studies, women speak about 20,000 words each day, compared to about 7,000 words each day for men.

Researchers at UMD say it's true, and say they believe it's because of protein found in body that is essential for speech.

Tests conducted by UMD researchers on rats show that females hold more of the protein essential for speech than men.
