Woman doesn't take sick day for 44 years

This is the time of year when you start to see a lot of empty desks in the office.

Co-workers are getting sick and they're calling out. Most people use at least one sick day a year, but not Deborah Ford.

She just retired from the postal service after working there for 44 years, and in all that time she never called out sick.

Ford says there were days when she felt under the weather but she felt it was her duty to get people their mail.

"Didn't you want to go to your mailbox and get a letter?" she said. "When you go to that mailbox and want a letter I'm going to make sure you get one"

She felt the duty.

"Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow," she said about her dedication to the job.

If you're trying to do the math.

Ford worked just short of 11,000 days without missing one. Her perfect record raised her pension to 5 percent.
