Boston declaring public health emergency H3N2


Boston is declaring a public health emergency as health officials in Massachusetts have reported 18 flu-related deaths so far.  
The city says there have been four flu-related deaths, all elderly patients, since the unofficial start of the flu season on Oct. 1.
Boston mayor Thomas Menino says the city has had about 700 confirmed cases of the flu, compared with 70 all of last season.
