The "BeyHive", a word generally used to describe Beyoncé's massive fan base, is still buzzing after the release of the singer's new Pepsi commercial.
Beyoncé posted a
teaser video on Wednesday. The teaser only showed the pop diva for about three seconds. Next, you saw a screen telling fans to tune in Thursday at 9:00 a.m.
Speculation rose across all social media platforms as people used the
#BeyHereNow hash tag. Is she releasing a new single? Is this another tour announcement? Is this a new music video?
For most Beyoncé fans, waiting an entire day felt like a lifetime.
It was Thursday at 9:00 a.m. – the time was here!
A link was posted to Beyoncé's Facebook page that linked to a video posted by Pepsi on YouTube.
The questions had been answered. The "big" announcement was the artist's new Pepsi commercial.
WHAT DID THE VIDEO LOOK LIKE?
The ad begins with Beyoncé, dressed in all black, practicing dance moves in a studio mirror. She decides to take a break and drink a Pepsi – of course.
After popping the top and taking a few gulps, Beyoncé looks in the mirror and sees herself as she looked in one of her past music videos. Several mirrors began revealing the artist's past looks and most popular dances.
It was interesting to see her battle herself as her alter ego, Sasha Fierce.
Next, Beyoncé broke out into new dance moves while the past personas joined in. As new music from the artist played in the background, all of the mirrors displaying past images shattered.
Beyoncé then comes back to reality and says: "Embrace your past, but live for now."
The video closes with the pop diva walking away while drinking her soda.
Beyoncé has done several ads with Pepsi. Several fans took to Twitter saying they were just happy to see something new from the artist. While others felt too much hype was generated over the commercial.
The former Destiny's Child member has proven herself to the music industry as an awesome entertainer.
After the release of the commercial and a snippet of new music, the "BeyHive" is in more anticipation than ever for Beyoncé to release a new album.
