Children injured in multi-car crash in Harford

Maryland State Police Tuesday had to fly two children injured in a multi-car crash in Harford County to a nearby hospital, according to a spokesman with the Harford County Fire Department.

Several vehicles were involved in the crash at the Route 543 and Interstate 95 interchange, officials confirmed at about 6 p.m. 

The severity and the numbers of injuries was unknown by 6:30 p.m.  

An additional four ambulances were sent to the scene of the crash as well as a State Police helicopter.

Officials asked drivers to avoid the area.
