BALTIMORE - Baltimore City Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened in East Baltimore late Friday afternoon.
According to police, officers were dispatched to 620 The Fallsway around 4:45 p.m. for an armed robbery at or near the housing and resource center there.
Once the officers got to the scene, they got a suspect description. That's when police say the officers encountered a man who matched that description in the 300 block of South Center St.
"When they approached that gentleman, he pulled out a weapon. The officer ordered him to drop the weapon. He didn't and it resulted in a police involved shooting. The suspect was taken into custody and then taken to a local hospital where he's been treated," David Reitz, with the Baltimore Police Department, said.
Both of the responding officers fired their weapons at the suspect, Reitz said.
Police say no officers were injured.
