ABERDEEN, Md. - A woman was killed Thursday morning after she was hit by a train in Aberdeen.
Around 6:18 a.m., a pedestrian was hit by a westbound train about 800 yards east of the West Bel Air Avenue crossing in Aberdeen, according to Aberdeen Police.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity had not been released as of 10 a.m. Thursday.
Fire and police personnel were called to the scene and the area was closed to traffic immediately following the accident.
Aberdeen Police are helping CSX Railroad Police in the ongoing investigation.
