Atlantic Hurricane Activity Weakest In Decades

The Atlantic has been oddly quiet this summer thanks to development of El Nino conditions which has strengthened the winds across the Atlantic. So far only 5 storms have formed which is the fewest since 1983. The 2014 Atlantic Hurricane Season follows 2013's very quiet hurricane season as well. It's been 9 years since a storm of category 3 strength has made landfall in the United States.
