Tropical Storm Emily quickly flared up Monday morning, bringing some heavy rain and gusty winds to Florida. The storm continues to push east - but is weakening by the minute as it crosses over the state. It was recently downgraded to a tropical depression but is expected to re-intensify once it reaches the warm waters off the east coast called the Gulf Stream.
Emily is not expected to impact the Mid-Atlantic but could kick up the surf and cause some rip currents in the coming days along the coast. We'll continue to track it as it moves northeast.
