Matthew remains a strong category 4 hurricane this morning. As of 11am Saturday, Matthew has maximum sustained winds of 145 mph and is currently moving slowly to the west at just 6mph.
Hurricane watches have been posted for Haiti and Jamaica. The National Hurricane Center is forecasting 10-15 inches, with isolated amounts of up to 25 inches, of rain to fall across Jamaica and portions of Haiti. Life threatening flash flooding and mudslides are certainly possible with extreme rainfall.
We'll need to monitor the progress of Matthew as the storm moves northward. There is still a lot of uncertainty of where exactly the storm will go.
