Our latest forecast models continue to indicate a snow event will unfold for much of the Mid Atlantic going into this weekend. A storm over the Tennessee valley will slide to the south and gather of Gulf of Mexico moisture before moving north by tonight.
The storm will slowly organize overspreading snow to Maryland after midnight. Baltimore could see snow as early at 5 AM which will start light eventually going over to a moderate snowfall rate.
There are some signs that this storm could be stronger as shown on our foreign forecast models (which are highly respected yet, performing poorly as of late).
The Details. (These are early estimates)
What: Snow Event (some mixing well south of Maryland)
When: Saturday Early Morning - Saturday Late Afternoon
Impacts: Light event with accumulating snows early with freezing potential overnight Saturday.
How Much: Early estimates point to 2-4" area wide. Closer to 4" just outside the city limits and away from the Bay.
More favorable solution at this time. Storm is weaker and develops late
