Severe T-storm, flash flood watches in effect across ABC2 viewing area

Here comes Round 2 of severe weather sweeping across Maryland.

There is a severe thunderstorm watch and flash flood watch in effect for most of the ABC2 News viewing area through 9 p.m.

Severe thunderstorm warnings have been activated in northwest Howard County, southern Carroll County, northern Montgomery County, Baltimore, Anne Arundel and Montgomery. 

A tremendous amount of destructive lightning and flash flooding is expected to move along Interstate 70 into New Market.

We were watching another storm that as of 4:30 p.m. is still south of Washington D.C., but is slowly moving north.

The Baltimore metro area is at risk for severe thunderstorms around 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Wind gusts could reach as high as 70 m.p.h.
