The 141st Preakness Stakes is tomorrow (May 21) and like the Kentucky Derby, women look forward to wearing there big beautiful hats!

The only difference this year will be WHY the hats are worn. Usually, the biggest reason why the hats are worn is because it's a fashion statement but another reason is because it serves as protection from the sun.

Tomorrow the hats will again be worn because of a fashion statement but this year the other reason they will be worn is to serve as protection from the rain NOT the sun!

This is not the first time it has rained at Preakness and it won't be the last time. Let's reminisce for a moment.......last year we were 30 degrees warmer with a high of 88 degrees. It was hot and humid. Some spectators were begging to cool off, so when showers and thunderstorms came, it was seen as a relief rather than a nuisance.

What a difference a year makes because this year the forecasted high is 58 degrees with rain, which may be heavy at times.

Preakness happens rain or shine, so come prepared for the rainy, cool conditions and don't forget to enjoy yourself!
