Nuisance storm tonight followed by weekend cold

Snow and rain for Wednesday night

An area of low pressure developing over the southeastern states today will move north and intensify later tonight. This low will be responsible for rain to kick off the evening rush followed by a slow change over to snow for extreme northern counties in Maryland especially N & W of I 70/I83.

As the storm begins to intensify it will wrap in some cold air across the state allowing for snow to fall even in the city by later tonight.

Temperatures have been so mild the last couple of days that at ground level our temperatures sit well above freezing, meaning most snow will not stick to the streets on contact. That being said the colder car tops, walkways, and side roads may see a quick coating of snow.

Beyond this storm we will watch another coastal storm for the weekend. The track on that system is still up in the air however, we do know it will get mighty cold once again. Daytime highs by the weekend will struggle to get out of the 30's with teens at night.
