On Friday night (Oct. 14th) the Mid-Atlantic & East Coast sky watchers will have a great opportunity to see the launch of CRS OA-5 .

This two-stage Antares rocket will send an un-crewed Cygnus cargo ship into orbit at 8:51 p.m. EDT from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS) located on Wallops Island, Virginia.

How's the Forecast:

Friday's forecast is looking pretty good for "night sky viewing". A cold front is expected to pass by Maryland on Thursday bringing clouds & a small chance of rain. A strong area of high pressure will be trailing that front resulting in clear skies Friday night in time to see the rocket launch. Be sure to keep up with the forecast here.
