A total of 29.2"... that is the official amount of snow that fell at BWI! Yes, we set a record and yes, we received over a season's worth of snow in one snow storm.

It is only the last week in January, so of course there are ample opportunities for more snow. That opportunity will happen this week.

There is the potential for a system to develop off the coast on Thursday and Friday which could bring more snow to the Mid-Atlantic.

Right now the models are split. The GFS (American Model) shows colder temperatures with the Low staying further south and east which will keep us dry, but the ECMWF (European Model) is further north and west which brings some precipitation to the area. The temperatures are marginal, so there could be a mix switching to snow.

Also, there are models that are right down the middle with a few leaning a bit more towards the GFS which is the dry, colder scenario.

Whatever the outcome, many are in agreement that if we didn't see any more snow any time soon that would be just fine but we will just have to wait and see.
