As of the 8 a.m. NHC Advisory, the forecast path for Joaquin no longer includes the U.S. East Coast.

The powerful and large storm was still battering the Bahamas with maximum sustained winds of 130 mph which makes it a Category 4 hurricane. Joaquin is slowly making the forecasted turn to the north and will leave the Bahamas on Saturday.

There shouldn't be any direct impacts to Maryland because Joaquin is expected to pass well off to the west of Bermuda on Sunday. Indirect impacts will occur from the storm. Expect coastal flooding and persistent winds through the weekend.
