While we're still trying to cool off from our current heat wave, another heat dome may be forming in the Central Plains. This could give Maryland another round of upper 90s during the first week of August if this system drifts east. As usual, if this arrives - the humidity will accompany this heat creating heat indices from 98° - 108°.

The 8 to 14 Day Outlook from the Climate Prediction Center is in agreement with this second round of heat forming - showing "above normal" temps through August 8th.

Some models are not onboard with this heat wave returning but we'll continue to follow the outlooks & trends and post them here.
