After record warmth in April, temperatures for the start of May have been cool and will continue to be so the next several days.
The Climate Prediction Center forecasts the below average temperatures to remain in place through the middle of the month.
High temperatures will be largely in the 60s the next week. Normal high temperatures for this time of year should be in the low 70s.
Temperatures through the overnight hours will also be quite chilly. In fact, some areas could get close to freezing Monday morning.
