So far, the forecast and the models have been spot on with plenty of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico feeding into the area which brought and is still bringing plenty of rain overnight and this morning.
The ingredients are coming together for severe weather this afternoon/evening. The warm moist feed from the south, dewpoints in the upper 60s to low 70s, a strong cold front moving east and the upper air dynamics are going to make for a very interesting afternoon to say the least.
The biggest threats with the severe storms will be damaging wind and isolated tornadoes. There will also be periods of heavy rain which will lead to the potential for flash flooding.
