What month is it?? Has anyone felt October? Because as of late, it feels like Mid-August early September with highs in the low to mid 80s.

The reason for the warm up is due to an area of high pressure off the East Coast along with the jet stream to the north in eastern Canada and in the upper Midwest

Yesterday we topped out at 83 degrees after I forecasted 82 degrees. Today and Wednesday I'm forecasting 85 degrees which may break the record high temperature on both days. Today's record high temperature is 82 degrees set back in 1945 and tomorrow's record high temperature is 82 set back in 1947.

Even if records don't fall today and/or tomorrow, one thing is for sure, high temperatures will be 15-20 degrees above the average of 66 degrees!

The warm temperatures cannot be classified as a true Indian Summer because the first killing freeze of autumn has not occurred. A killing freeze occurs when the overnight temperature reaches 28 degrees of cold…and may or may not occur with frost.

Indian Summer typically occurs in mid to late autumn and can occur more than once.

If you are not a fan of the unseasonably warm weather,  don't fret because a chilly change will arrive by the weekend with high temps struggling to reach the 60s.

Stay tuned!
