It's winter and many of you want to see winter. Forget those mild temps you want to feel the cold and see the snow! Well, I am happy to say that a colder pattern is on the way.
An area of high pressure down south was pumping in milder air. A cold front marched through yesterday and now the high has shifted further east.
As the the high continues to move further into the Atlantic, it will allow colder air to seep into the region as the Jetstream will begin to sag south which in turn will change the ridging pattern (which caused the milder air) to a troughing pattern. Therefore dragging the cold air down from the north.
This transition will happen over the next 7 to 10 days. Now all we have to do is make sure the moisture meets up with the snow and we are golden!
