The Storm Prediction Center has upped the risk of severe weather today. The entire viewing area is now under a Slight Risk for severe weather this afternoon/evening.

The biggest threats with this storm will be isolated tornadoes, damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.

A line of showers and storms may begin to move through the western counties around 4 p.m. Frederick and Carroll Counties may be impacted around that time.

The squall line/s will continue eastward arriving around rush hour between 5 and 6 p.m. in Howard, Baltimore, Anne Arundel and Harford counties. The line will progress to the Eastern Shore between 7 and 8 p.m..

If a Tornado Watch is issued,  know that conditions are favorable for a tornado. A Tornado Warning means the tornado is on the ground and you need to seek shelter immediately.

If there's a Tornado Warning, go to the basement. If you don't have a basement, go to the lowest level of your home. Keep as many doors in between you and the outside as possible and cover your head.

I will have the latest updates on the potential severe weather on Facebook.
