FORECAST: Still Hot, Multiple Tropical Systems

We are watching two different tropical depressions

We are carefully watching Tropical Depression #8 and #9.  "Eight" is just off the coast off eastern North Carolina, as it may well strengthen to a tropical storm in the next 24-48 hours.  "Nine" is just west of the Florida coast, however, modeling has it crossing that state and swinging up the East Coast as a Tropical Storm over the mid-part of the weekend.  The good news is, the same cold front that will bring Maryland relief from the heat starting Thursday, should also easily push Eight out to sea, and hold Nine offshore as well.

None the less, large surf, rip currents and beach erosion will be likely for a large part of the Labor Day weekend at Maryland's beaches.
