Two Delaware men missing after Hurricane Irene

HOCKESSIN, Del. (AP) -- Police in northern Delaware say they have organized a search team to look for two men reported missing after Hurricane Irene.

New Castle County Police Cpl. John Weglarz says 25-year-old Christopher Valentine of Hockessin (HO'-kess-in) and 25-year-old Jean (zhawn) Baptista of Clark, N.J., were last seen around midnight Saturday during the height of the Category 1 hurricane.

Weglarz says the men had left a residence on foot just before midnight. He says they texted a friend shortly after midnight that they were running through the hurricane.

Weglarz says the text message was sent from a location near Hoopes (hoops) Reservoir, several miles east of Hockessin. Valentine's mother reported him missing Sunday afternoon. Hockessin is an inland community about 10 miles northwest of
Wilmington.
