Tree crashes through home of family of five as Hurricane Sandy hits Linthicum

LINTHICUM, Md. - A family of five was sent running when a tree crashed through their Linthicum home Monday.

The tree fell onto power lines and through the house in the 400 block of West Maple Road, as Sandy continued to wreak havoc on the region.

A next door neighbor told ABC2 News the family consists of two adults and three children, one of which a newborn baby. Anne Arundel fire confirmed the family made out of the home safely with no injuries.

Neighbors couldn't believe the scene around their homes.

"I was letting my dog out the back and I heard a crackling noise and then there was a bright flash and explosion," resident Mike Fullmer said.

Fullmer is concerned about the three oak trees in his backyard and said he plans to sleep in the basement.
