The Department of Public Works is reminding locals to keep storm drains clear of debris during the expected heavy rainfall.

Officials said leaves and trash can clog storm drains, leading to flooding. Locals are asked to rake leaves and sweep trash from sidewalks, alleys and gutters ahead of the storm.

Residents can call 311 to have crews clear out blocked drains.

A Flash Flood Watch has been issued through Friday at 8 a.m. Rainfall of 3 to 6 inches is expected throughout the area.
